Alison Stafford

Alison is an experienced therapist having working in the public and private sectors for over 16 years. Alison is caring, compassionate and empathetic in her endeavours to empower and support her clients to make their own decisions and identify their strengths and hopes for the future.
Alison is passionate about working with children, teens and adults using a strengths based approach including CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. Her specialty areas are depression, anxiety, stress, conflict management, self esteem, chronic pain, grief and loss, trauma, anger management.

Amanda Rowland

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Amanda has worked in clinical settings in community, government and private organisations since graduating in 1996. Amanda has worked extensively in the areas of child and adolescent and adult mental health and is passionate about helping people across the lifespan. Amanda has worked in many areas of practice with particular speciality in the areas of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship counselling, grief, trauma and perinatal and postnatal mental health. Her experience is backed by formal training in CBT, CBT-E, CRT, FBT, ACT, conflict resolution, mediation, mindfulness, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy.

Alicia Garrett

MHSW; B.SW; B.Psych

Alicia has over 12 years’ experience as a mental health clinician. Her specific area of interest is working with children, teens, young adults and families struggling with mental health issues such as depression (including bipolar disorder), anxiety, family violence, addiction, personality disorders/complex trauma, disordered eating and low self-worth. Alicia places a high value on developing respectful, authentic and open-minded relationships with clients, creating a safe, client-centred and collaborative environment.
Alicia's therapeutic approach is underpinned by trauma-informed practice and the recovery care model, focussing on collaboration and inclusivity. Alicia uses several therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Alicia is passionate about the accessibility of evidence-based mental health support for her clients.

Sue Canal

Susan has worked in the public and private sectors for over 10 years and has a special interest in chronic condition management. With a warm and accepting therapeutic style, Susan tailors interventions to help clients move toward better health and wellbeing, while building skills to manage life challenges. Mindful of taking a biopsychosocial approach to each individual, she provides high quality evidence-based therapeutic intervention utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Schema Therapy (ST).

Susan has extensive experience working within multidisciplinary teams treating various gastrointestinal conditions, including liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Psychological therapy can help to address the psychological impacts associated with these conditions including Depression, Anxiety and stress, Trauma, Adjustment distress, e.g. medical diagnosis, life transitions and events, Chronic pain, Grief and loss, Disordered eating, Harmful health behaviour, e.g. inactivity, smoking, alcohol and substance use.

MEET OUR THERAPY DOGS

Charlot

Charlot is a miniature Labradoodle, specifically bread for her role as a therapy dog. Labradoodles are sensitive, gentle natured dogs and are wonderful with children. Therapy dogs have been found to be particularly helpful in helping anxious clients feel grounded and present, thereby aiding optimal benefit (and enjoyment) for clients.

Sebastian is a Cavoodle, also specifically bread for assistance and therapy dog purposes. The nature of these breeds are well known for their sociability, gentle and intuitive natures. They have an exceptional ability to tune into peoples emotional states and bring a sense of comfort and security. Sebastian loves coming into the clinic to see his friends again.
